THE HARVEST IS MESSY: DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE WORK
Proverbs 14:4
In this powerful message, Pastor Aaron challenges the church to understand that real ministry is messy, discipleship is costly, and the harvest requires work. Proverbs 14:4 reminds us that where there are no oxen, the manger is clean—but where there is an ox, there is an abundance of harvest.
Sometimes we want the harvest without the mess. We want changed lives without walking through the process. We want disciples who are mature without being willing to disciple them through their struggles, questions, failures, and growth. But you can’t have a harvest without the work that comes with it.
Jesus called us to make disciples—not just gather crowds. Discipleship means getting involved in people's lives, carrying burdens, extending grace, bringing correction, teaching truth, and being willing to get our hands dirty.
A clean manger may look good, but it may be evidence that nothing is happening.
The harvest is plentiful, the need is great, and God is looking for people who are willing to embrace the mess that comes with ministry. Don’t despise the process. Don’t walk away because people are messy. The mess may be proof that God is bringing a harvest.
This is a call to stop pursuing comfortable Christianity and start embracing the responsibility of discipleship, ministry, and the harvest God has placed before us.
The harvest is plentiful. The work is messy. But the harvest is worth it.
