Don’t Let the Algorithm Shape Your Heart
In this powerful teaching, Pastor Aaron confronts the influence of the algorithm, social media, and keyboard warriors and challenges the church to recognize what is shaping our hearts and influencing the way we respond to the world around us.
We live in a generation where algorithms can continually feed us opinions, outrage, offense, arguments, and division. The more we engage, the more we are shown—and without realizing it, we can begin allowing the digital world to disciple our emotions, our attitudes, and even our relationships.
But Romans 12:9–20 gives us a completely different standard.
Paul calls believers to genuine love, honor, humility, patience, compassion, peace, and self-control. We are instructed not to repay evil for evil, not to seek revenge, and not to become what has wounded us. Instead, Scripture commands us to bless those who oppose us and overcome evil with good.
Pastor Aaron teaches on the danger of becoming a keyboard warrior—someone who is willing to fight behind a screen but may not be willing to walk in the character of Christ face-to-face. Not every comment requires a response. Not every argument is our assignment. Not every battle deserves our attention.
The question is not simply, “What is the algorithm feeding me?” The deeper question is, “What am I allowing to shape my heart?”
This message challenges us to examine what we consume, what we participate in, and how we represent Christ in a culture that often rewards anger, division, and offense.
The world may be discipled by the algorithm, but the church is called to be discipled by the Word.
