WHEN GOD HAS SPOKEN: TEST EVERY VOICE Pastor Aaron

1 Kings 13 | Galatians 1:8–9

There are moments in our walk with God when the greatest danger is not hearing nothing—it is hearing too many voices.

In 1 Kings 13, God gave a clear instruction to His prophet. He knew what God had told him, he knew what he was supposed to do, and he knew what God had commanded. Yet along the journey, another voice came with what sounded like a spiritual word. The voice came through someone who appeared to have authority, experience, and credibility. But the word contradicted what God had already spoken.

The prophet had to make a choice: Would he obey the voice of God, or would he allow another voice to redefine what God had said?

This message is a call back to biblical discernment.

We cannot build our lives on opinions, emotions, assumptions, personalities, popular teachings, or what simply sounds spiritual. We have to know the Word of God well enough to recognize when something does not line up with it. Every voice must be tested. Every prophecy must be examined. Every instruction must be weighed against the Word of God.

Galatians 1:8–9 gives us a serious warning: even if a message comes through someone who appears spiritual or authoritative, if it contradicts the gospel and the truth already given by God, it must be rejected.

Pastor Aaron brings a challenging word about learning how to walk in correction without abandoning conviction. Correction is necessary because God loves us enough to confront what needs to change. But correction must never become an excuse to disregard what God has clearly spoken. There is a difference between being humble enough to receive correction and being easily influenced by every voice that speaks into your life.

You cannot afford to confuse someone's opinion with God's instruction.

There will be voices that challenge your obedience. There will be people who tell you that you misunderstood God. There will be moments when what God told you does not make sense to everyone around you. And there will be times when you have to go back to the Word and ask, “What did God actually say?”

This message calls us to slow down, search the Scriptures, test the spirits, discern motives, receive godly correction, and refuse to let human opinion become louder than the voice of God.

Because being sincere does not make a voice correct. Being spiritual does not automatically make a message biblical. And having a title does not make someone infallible.

The question is not simply, “Who said it?”

The question is:

“Did God say it?”

When God has spoken, we must learn to recognize His voice, stand on His Word, and walk in obedience—even when another voice tries to convince us to do something different.

Test the spirits. Test the message. Test the motive. Test it against the Word.

Because when God has spoken, obedience is more important than opinion.
